To
Shri Narendra Modiji,
Hon'ble Prime Minister of India,
New Delhi -110001.
Respected PM,
VANAKKAM.
On 24th March 2020, in your address to the Nation, advised the Elderly persons not to go out as they are more vulnerable to Covid 19 and reiterated the same on 14.04.20 again in your address and said "Take special care of the elderly in our homes, especially those who have chronic health problems.
But, We, the retirees of BSNL, constrained to state that BSNL management " is totally neglecting the old age retired persons in the matter of medical care.
Number of our aged persons are suffering from Cancer, Cardiac problems, kidney ailments taken treatment from Specialized Hospitals and submitted bills to BSNL for reimbursement of the expenses under the BSNL MRS scheme.
For the last two years, BSNL Corporate office has not allotted sufficient funds to the Heads of Circles throughout the country and due to this medical claims are pending. Some pensioners are unable to continued Dialysis for want of money leading to risking their life. The same is the condition of others suffering from heart problems.
Due to non payment of bills, empaneled hospitals are refusing to admit for treatment. If the pensioners insist they are asked to pay the cash and claim later from BSNL. Those under went treatment to save life with this conditions, their bills are also not reimbursed, and apart from this nearly 90% of the retired persons spend more than Rs2000 per month for outdoor treatment.
The maximum age profile of the BSNL pensioners being 70 and above, having spent their personal money are waiting to get back.
We regret to record
BSNL DOES NOT CARE WHAT OUR PM SAYS.
Kindly excuse us for making such an indictment of our Own erstwhile employer because we were the assets creates valued around 'Three Lakhs Crores ' during under the control of Central Government (DOT) as well as after Corporatisation as BSNL as the Govt of India Undertaking.
We suffer at this advanced age in the hands of BSNL Corporate Office which says No money to pay your medical claims.
We, the pensioners are not really responsible. We have done our duty to the Nation building through hard work.
We also stood up as one person in helping the country during natural calamities.
Our Association has contributed more than ONE CRORES to the Covid fund of PM and States Chief Mininster's relief fund.Last year we have donated more than 40 lakhs to the PMDRF and the amount was presented in person to Hon'ble Union Mininster Shri Prahalad Joshi at Hobbali.
We appeal to our Respected PM to allot Special Fund to BSNL Medical Reimbursement scheme from PM Fund to overcome the difficulty and save the BSNL pensioners from virtual death.
Jai Hind
Yours sincerely,
V.Ramarao, President
R.Venkatachalam, Secretary
