 STR DIVISION FORMATION DAY 

Dear Comrades, Good afternoon. On behalf of the District Executive My sincere wishes to all our comrades on the eve of 15th Formation Day of our STR Division.This branch was formed on this Date during 2007 at the NFTE Office at CHINTADRIPET having 15members under the name of Tamilnadu BSNL PENSIONERS ASSOCIATION.

Comrades  T.E.Vasudevan, K.Muthialu, and Sridharan were the first President, Secretary and Treasurer. With the permision of then DGM STSR Sri Raghuraman,our meetings were conducted in the recreation club of Flowerbazaar STR on the afternoon of 2nd Tuesday of every month. Comrade A.Sugumaran joined this organisation as Life member during 2008 and he was elected as President and Sathyanarayanan as treasurer and Com.K.Muthialu as Secretary. Com.Narasimhan  ADS opened website and started maintaining. Periodical Circulars were sent by mail. 197 Circulars were sent till WhatsApp was started. Efforts were made to increase the strength of members by approaching the retiring Persons by com.K.Muthialu. Retired executives  joined as members in our branch  after Com. Sugumaran’s  active participation in this organization. Meeting venue got shifted to the corridor of Fbzr 5th floor as the recreation club space was insufficient. STR played active role in Circle as well as in CHQ. On our proposal to have an All India body for BSNL retirees, as their issues are different from DOT pensioners, TN Circle office bearers took initiative to form an All India association. Com.K.Muthialu was the first CHQ President as well as TN Circle President. Role of Com.K.Muthialu in attending farewell parties of retirement and enrolling them as members will be  ever remembered. Com.Narasimman started whatsApp group and informations were posted every now and then. Circulars were stopped.After Muthialu's assuming charge as Circle Secretary, Com.D.S.Ramalingm was elected as Dist Secretary during the GB mtg held during October 2016. During his period payment of 78.2 Pension revision, 3% Fixation of pay revision during promotion to executives were taken up. Issue reg. Non creation of Pensioners vendor code for more no of penstioners in STR was taken up and resolved. We played key role in assisting CS for the CWC held at RGMTTC Chennai during April 2018. On 20th April  Com.S.Sundarakrishnan and N.Mohan were elected as Secretary, Treasurer with Com.A.Sugumaran as President. Under the able guidance of Sr.Comrades and leaders  this body is functioning to the best of our knowledge and belief in settling  various issues. Our comrades viz K.Muthialu, A Sugumaran, N.S.Deenadayalan, H.S.Sudha, N.Mohan, LK, S.Ramkumar, DSR, Srinivasan Ch TD, Murali Ch.TD, Sampathkumar, Narasimman, Ravi STR, D.Victorraju circle VP played important role in enrolling new members. Now, Our membership has crossed 1490. We  conducted monthly meeting in an AC hall at Guindy since March 2019 till March 2020. Due to Covid lock down subsequent meetings could not be conducted. However since Sep 2020 We conduct virtual Meetings inviting CHQ office bearers as special invitees. Participation was not attractive. We are very much proud and pride to have 15 nos of HAG/SAG Level retired  officers (CGM/PGM/GM) as our Members. Retd DOT ADVISOR SRI.K.Mahadevan sir is one amongst them. Thanks to Com.K.Muthialu for his sincere efforts to enroll them. We have more Addition. Our members are of from retd  Telecom Mechanic, all cadres from Class III, Executives from Accounts/Technical /PS and HAG/SAG level officers. executives. We have leaders held the post of Circle as well as All India  office bearers from various trade union / Associations. So, we serve to all cadres irrespective of any discremination of Cadre/union. Our comrades liberally  donated for various appeals towards natural calamities and we stood first. Our branch  has conducted every year Magalir Thinam and felicitate female comrades and pensioners day felicitating Sr.comrades completed 70yrs age. Due to Covid we lost a lot of comrades during the last 15 month. Amongst the departed persons, Services of  Founder member Comrades   Parameshwaran Asst Treasurer, Sridharan  ACS and Samsudeen Dist Vice President will be ever remembered. With  great struggle our CHQ leaders viz com.Ramankutty, Com.G.Natarajan, DG, K.Muthialu our comrades got the orders for 2nd PRC Pension revision and 78.2 Pension revision. Our Sincere thanks to all our leaders. Thanks to Com.V.Ramarao,  CP,  R.Venkatachalam CS. who are helping us at circle level. With wishes.
