 .....WHAT IS AHEAD....

This is just to reflect on the current scenario...

THE OPTIONS BEFORE THE PENSIONERS....

.....ONE is to seek Revision of Pension only through the Judiciary.

.....THE SECOND is to go in for Negotiation/Request or Pressurise DOT/GOVT.

These are views expressed by Members/Activists. Also there are Reactions/Outbursts on the Approach of the Pensioners' Associations. Diffidence among the Members on the delay is but Natural..

AS THINGS STAND TODAY...

Our AIBSNLPWA seems to rely more on the Judiciary

One or Two Other Associations are against Approaching The   Judiciary.

SOME Associations are having A Mixed Approach of reaching out to the Authorities & also continuing threir efforts in the Courts.(This is due to the fact that they have No Escape).

IN SUCH A DELICATE POSITION as We are Placed....

1. We have to think aloud in the over-all Interests of Pensioners.

2. The PBCAT Judgement is not categorical and gives room for Interpretations. Even in the Legal Opinion placed in the last CWC , Our Lawyer at the end says ..His Interpretation only.

3. The PBCAT and Our CHQ both are silent about the Scales in which the Pensioners would be placed. Even If Notional Fixation as suggested, has to be done, there has to be Scales of Pay.

4. Let us be clear that settlement of the Issue, whether through Court OR Negotiation OR even Unilateral, the DECISION lies with the GOVT/Authorities & We have Limitations.

RHETORIC/STICKING TO (My WAY OR No Way)/OUTRIGHT DENIAL to hear the views of Others would land the Pensioners & the Association into difficulties.

The Ground Reality is that Pensioners want Improvement In Their Pension & Our AIBSNLPWA should be the HARBINGER in taking the Requisite Steps by adopting A Flexible Approach...

AIBSNLPWA as the largest Association should initiate steps for Unity among the Pensioners' Associations. If SUCH STEPS are indicated, then the Pensioners, irrespective of affiliation would galvanise the Utmost Unity of Approach. 

This kind of Unified Approach, that too in the context of Wage Review going on in BSNL, would not only aid in resolving the Issue of Pension Revision but also Boosting the Morale of the Members, thereby Strengthening Our Organisation...
